Marco - Made in Italy

MadeInItaly is the first properly conceptualized restaurant in Labuan Bajo, Flores.

My journey began right here on “Jalan Soekarno Hatta”, back when the road was still unpaved and there wasn’t much else around.

In 2010, when I first stumbled upon this little fishing village on the other side of the world, it felt like a hidden gem with so much potential. Despite its humble beginnings, I always had this gut feeling that it could blossom into something big, I was actually saying that this will be the “Montecarlo” of Asia but everybody was making jokes and laugh at me. After few years what i felt was right, the main Government from Jakarta started to push this to be a Premium International destination where so many big investors and international chains have started to build and change forever the face of Labuan Bajo transforming it from a Village to now becoming a City.

It was a humble start, but I was sure that it was the beginning of something bigger. As time passed, the landscape changed, new faces arrived, and the community began to thrive and The MadeInItaly it all started right here, in this unassuming corner of the world.

The biggest challenge for me, was not to open, but to keep the restaurant alive and reputable as it is now.

Working hard, Passion and Consistency are the pillars of my achievements.

Our Italian food menu blends Tuscan flavors with a commitment to fine dining originality and uncompromising quality.

From our traditional wood-fired oven, we offer pizzas with distinct textures and aromas. Our unique pasta dishes are innovative and exclusive to our restaurant. Additionally, we take pride in serving a diverse selection of imported premium cuts, aged in-house for exceptional tenderness and flavor.

Culture and determination guide the selection of raw materials because the search for freshness and the typicality of the ingredients are the basis of our values.

We respect the ingredients of nature and their quality and freshness, looking for seafood, legumes, cereals and vegetables in the sites of excellence giving priority to the territoriality and seasonality of the individual ingredients.

Our journey is all about PRECISION, DISCIPLINE AND DEDICATION.

We believe that anyone can reach their best potential when they have the passion and a willingness to learn. Chef Marco been training hundreds of people during those 12 years of MadeInItaly and the love he have for this job made him share all this passion to all the team cause our key to achieve what we’ve achieved is CONSISTENCY.
